Born in Szczecin, Poland, the pianist Marlena Maciejkowicz grew up in Germany and currently lives in Italy. She began her piano studies at the age of six with her mother, giving her first performance at nine.

She completed her academic studies at prestigious institutions with notable professors such as Konrad Meister, Michel Béroff, and Hans Leygraf. In 2001, she earned her master’s degree with highest honors from the Mozarteum in Salzburg.

Her career was shaped by participation in masterclasses with distinguished musicians, including Andrzej Jasinski and Alexander Lonquich. From a young age, she was a winner in national and international competitions, including the Steinway Competition in Hamburg. At seventeen, she represented Germany at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw.

She achieved significant success in competitions, including the first prize at the International Brahms Competition in 2003 and awards at the “Concerti in Villa” and “Rina Sala Gallo” competitions in 2004.

Marlena Maciejkowicz’s concert career includes solo recitals and performances as a soloist with orchestras in various European countries. She has collaborated with ensembles such as the Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” of Milan. She has received scholarships and participated in international festivals, such as the Warsaw festival at the invitation of Elzbieta Penderecka.

Her discography includes a 2003 recording of Rachmaninov’s Études-tableaux and, in 2017, a transcription of the composer’s Concerto No. 3 for string quintet. In addition to her solo career, she is dedicated to chamber music.

Nata a Stettino, in Polonia, la pianista Marlena Maciejkowicz è cresciuta in Germania e attualmente vive in Italia. Ha iniziato lo studio del pianoforte a sei anni con la madre, esibendosi per la prima volta a nove anni.

L’attività concertistica di Marlena Maciejkowicz si è sviluppata in recital solistici e come solista con orchestra in diversi paesi europei. Ha collaborato con formazioni come l’Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” di Milano. Ha ricevuto borse di studio e ha partecipato a festival internazionali, come quello di Varsavia su invito di Elzbieta Penderecka. La sua discografia include una registrazione del 2003 con gli Études-tableaux di Rachmaninov e, nel 2017, la trascrizione del Concerto n. 3 per quintetto d’archi dello stesso compositore.

Parallelamente all’attività solistica, si dedica con dedizione alla musica da camera.
